The epidermis is in single layer. It is a circular in out line. No multi cellular hair is found. Vascular bundles are scattered. No pith region. Below the epidermis is the hypo dermis made of sclerenchyma cells. The epidermis is covered by a thick cuticle. It is made of rectangular shaped cells. Cuticle is to prevent excess transpiration.
